ANIMALS

Our beloved pet friends deserve a comfortable life that suits their needs.

Owning a dog, a cat or any other pets involves responsibilities. Deciding if bringing them to a festival is one of these. Our pets, including dogs, do not love being in places where there’s loads of people and they can get lost, and especially they don’t like loud noises – because of their very sensitive hearing, dogs particularly. An animal ear can be even four times more sensitive than a human ear, and exposing them to festival sound system is a huge source of stress for your pet that may become anxious and nervous.

We know your pets would follow you anywhere and they would be up for being in front of a sound system just to be with you all the time, but this hurts them. If you really love your pets, please leave them at home and find a viable solution for their care rather than taking them to the festival.

Please remember that pets suffer when left inside a car, and especially dogs suffer the heat that can be lethal to them. We believe that leaving your dog at home and letting someone else take care of them while you are away is the best way to show how much you love them and take care of their needs.

Furthermore, the festival area is vast and there are many dangers for a dog that may decide to venture by itself because of stress, including streets nearby where cars and people are transiting all the time.

Our security staff have been informed about the possibility of unfortunate situations because of the lack of sense of responsibility of a few participants, which can influence the experience of many others. Therefore, we ask you to avoid bring your dogs or pets inside the festival area or you will be escorted outside with no possibility of re-admission.

We want a comfortable festival experience for everyone and that no-one had to witness situations which do not reflect the WAO Festival values, which are peace, love and respect of all the forms of life – starting from yours and your pet friends!

TAKE CARE OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND YOURSELF

This is the point we are more passionate about. Please take care of yourself!

The festival takes place in a beautiful, protected natural area – Mount Peglia – famous for its woods and flat fields which will fulfill your senses. You’ll be able to enjoy the shade in the camping area during the hottest hours.

Please remember to drink a lot of water and keep yourself hydrated!

We remind you that WAO is all about ecology and sustainability: we are one organism living in symbiosis with itself, so please take care of what surrounds you. Please don’t throw any rubbish, cigaret butts and anything that could cause damage to the environment – This will be very much appreciated and will help mantain the land as clean as possible.

As the festival location is a protected area, it would be great if you could bring biological/environment friendly soaps and shampoos. You can find them litterally in every supermarket nowadays, and they will benefit both you and the earth that will receive them.

You’ll be able to see a lavander field inside the festival area. Lavander is an ancient medical plant and has a positive influence on its surroundings. Picking these flowers is forbidden by Monte Peglia’s law, as it’s mentioned in the large signs at the entrance of the park – But they may not be seen but everyone. WAO crew recommends to respect this rule and avoid picking lavander flowers. Transgression may result in legal persecution by the local authorities.

There will be toilets and showers in the festival area. We kindly ask you to keep these areas clean, and we remind you that having a shower in a clean and tidy is one of the best experiences you can have at a festival. Although we will have a cleaning service, it’s important that your behaviour in the toilets and shower facilities is aimed to keep all the spaces as clean as possible. Please remember that the festival will be your home for a few days, therefore we ask for your co-operation.

We believe you have come to the festival with your better intentions, however we reccommend you to put extra attention in all of your actions for its whole duration. Please keep a friendly, light and spiritual attitude, and don’t let yourself go to excesses for a whole, fulfilling and deep experience. As WAO Festival is a place where we promote wellness, you are welcome to take part in order to feel good – And not bad.

Please remember that the Italian law persecutes the possession and use of drugs, so we openly descourage any form of abuse and we won’t be responsible for any consequence of your actions. Furthermore, we inform our participants that  glass bottles are not allowed inside the festival area for security reasons, and they will be confiscated by our security staff if found.

Last but not least: if you see someone having problems or a difficult experience, please do not ignore them and try to understand if they are alright or if they need any help. As we are one, being helpful and selfless is a very appreciated as these qualities are expression of human values of unity, share and mutual support. If you cannot actually help the person you see in trouble, please call a member of staff or take them to the medical point.

FIRES

Starting from 1st July and for the whole summer duration, the laws against fire will be enforced in Italy. Lighting up fires of any kind will be forbidden at the festival and anywhere else on the Mount Peglia.

If you need to cook with a fire, there will be a common bbq area near the festival entrance.

If you meet someone that is not respecting this rule, please try to descourage them and, if you don’t manage, inform a member of staff or security.
